This 1980s apartment was reimagined with a bathroom and sauna designed to embody timelessness and continuity. The material palette was carefully curated in dialogue with earlier renovations, ensuring that the intervention integrates seamlessly into the existing architectural narrative. By approaching the renovation as a phased process, the design achieves a cohesive and harmonious whole without the need for a complete overhaul at once.
Spatial refinement is expressed through subtle yet deliberate gestures: a full-height doorway that accentuates verticality and openness, exquisite aspen paneling that lends warmth and tactility, and generously dimensioned aspen plank benches that emphasize proportion and craftsmanship. Together, these details elevate the everyday rituals of bathing and relaxation into an architectural experience defined by clarity, material honesty, and enduring design.
